S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies : RSIS
The S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), initially founded as the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (IDSS) on 30 July 1996, has evolved into a prominent hub for regional and international affairs, especially in Asia-Pacific strategic studies. Renamed RSIS in 2007 following a period of rapid growth, the institution has since consolidated its position in teaching, research, and administration. RSIS's Master's programmes have seen increasing international interest, with over 60% of students now coming from abroad. The Doctoral Programme, launched in 2006, continues to expand, with many doctoral candidates coming from the Master's stream, reinforcing RSIS's international orientation and commitment to high-quality research and education.
