Indonesian ocean policy



Law Number 17 Year 2007 on National Long Term Development Plan 20052025 lists the 8 (eight) missions to achieve the national development vision "indonesia That Is Self-Reliant. Advance, Just And Prosperous". One such mission is "to enable Indonesian archipelago became independent, advanced, powerful, and based on national interests". National development strategies used to achieve the vision and mission, as mandated in the Law is the sustainable development in the spirit of the pro-poor, pro-growth, pro-jobs and pro-environment. But until now Indonesia has not had an ocean policy. Though Indonesian Ocean Policy (IOP) can be used as a "framework" or reference for all "stakeholders" who are very concerned about the marine development in Indonesia.
