Sea power Indonesia

The rise and fall of Indonesia's maritime kingdoms are well-documented in national and global history, highlighting their significant sea power. These kingdoms effectively harnessed the marine resources of the Nusantara to advance their welfare and strength, earning global respect during their peak. As an archipelagic state, Indonesia views its seas, straits, and oceans as essential for national unity, resource management, scientific advancement, influence, and defense. Sea power extends beyond naval fleets to include merchant ships, fishing fleets, maritime industries, and maritime personnel. Thus, developing Maritime Domain Awareness is crucial for Indonesia to strengthen its maritime identity and work towards achieving "Indonesia Gemilang" by 2045.
