Energy in Indonesia
Indonesia's economic growth and development are increasingly capturing the attention of the wider world and those involved in the energy sector are no exception. Indonesia has long been part of the international oil industry - the archipelago has been a major oil exporter for more than a century, and in the 1990s exports of gas and coal have also become important. As Indonesia's own domestic energy requirements grow sharply, other foreign energy sector industries and investors are being attracted by new business opportunities arising to meet local demand.
