The Indonesian production sharing contract : its development and current status 1989
The Production Sharing Contract (PSC) has been a successful tool for Indonesia to achieve its mining goals and has been beneficial for foreign petroleum companies looking to expand their business opportunities. There are six types of contractual arrangements for cooperation between Indonesia/PERTAMINA and petroleum companies, including the Contract of Work (GOW) and the PSC. The PSC now covers approximately 90% of contracted petroleum acreage in the country, making it the most dominant form of contractual agreement. The success of PSC in Indonesia can be attributed to the Government's efforts in maintaining political and economic stability since the establishment of the New Order in 1966. This brochure provides an overview of the latest developments in PSC.
