Defense and security : challenges and prospects

The defense and security landscape of the Philippines has become more fluid given the diverse issues that need to be addressed. New issues continue to emerge. Concerns that may have been previously put on the sidelines have re-emerged to be at the forefront. Meanwhile, new aspects of issues currently recognized as security concerns have come about.rnrnAmidst this diversity and fluidity is the need to reflect on how best these issues could be addressed. Putting one's thoughts generated through various engagements and events in a volume could perhaps be helpful not only in revisiting insights that came about but more importantly in thinking through how to pro-actively approach these issues. And others having an idea of one's thoughts could perhaps induce them to share their respective views and thereby contribute in having a holistic approach to the issues that confront the defense establishment.
