For twenty five years of the First Longterm National Development Scheme from 1969 till 1994 the electric power supply system operated by the Perusahaan Umum Listrik Negara, abbreviated as PLN, or the State Electricity Corporation of Indonesia, had grown at the average rate of about 15 per cent per annum or doubling in five years and is still anticipated to grow at about the same rate for at least the next ten years.
