Energy market reform should promote a just and equitable society, long-term security of supply and energy sector sustainability. Moreover, energy market reform is expected to enhance the role of government as the regulator and policy maker, as well as the private sector. Effective government role and efficient participation of private sector may be achieved through energy market reform which ensures transparency and a level playing field, supported by the necessary regulatory framework as well as other supporting institutional framework.
