Masterplan on natural gas development & utilization in ASEAN : draft final report

Incentives to develop ASEAN natural gas resources not only come from the global environmental concerns, but, more than that, from the needs of a continued and fast economic growth of the ASEAN region. Moreover, the development and utilization of natural gas can be a key area of cooperation of the ASEAN members, their common objective being to avoid a region's dependence on imported energy and to reduce the environmental problems related with the economic growth of the area. Gas development strategy should be considered from the point of view of economic justification as well as from substitution programs for petroleum products.
