Indonesia natural resource development future of oil, gas and mining

In the authoritarian era of the past, many of these questions were ignored and actions were directed from the center rather than negotiated with stakeholders. This often was not a fair and balanced process. Such a method was never desirable and, in democratic Indonesia today, it is not possible. Thus a major goal of today's program is to provide a forum for stakeholders to discuss issues and seek solutions to problems that respect the rights and obligations of all stakeholders. I hope today we all can make some contribution to these solutions and promote the responsible, profitable development of Indonesia's resources to the maximum benefit of the Indonesian people in terms of environmental safety and protection, jobs and tax revenues. Thank you very much for coming. I wish everyone a very fruitful and productive day.
