Energy Policy and Planning Seminars-Training materials introductory concepts

This volume contains ten of the readings suggested for the introductory sessions (Module One) of the Energy Policy and Planning Seminars conducted in Sub-Saharan Africa by the Finance, Industry, and Energy Division of the EDI. It includes a curriculum description which provides an introduction to the Energy Policy and Planning Seminar, a summary of each of the eight training modules, and a partial listing of the readings for the whole seminar. The volumes in this series, currently under preparation, correspond to the different modules presented in the curriculum description and are prepared to facilitate access to the readings for training purposes. The readings reflect the basic objectives of the Energy Policy and Planning Seminars. These seminars emphasize discussion of policy issues and measures designed to encourage efficient consumption, production options, and development plans in the energy sector. They are intended to enhance the awareness and analytical capabilities of the participants.
