Energy Policy and Planning Seminars-Training materials module 2 : basic economic and cost-benefit analysis concepts part 1 : basic economic concepts

Part 1 of Module 2 on Basic Economic Concepts contains 3 of the readings suggested for the Energy Policy and Planning Seminars conducted by the Finance, Industry, and Energy Division of the Economic Development Institute. Part 2 of Module 2 has been printed in a separate volume. It contains selected readings on Cost-Benefit Analysis Concepts. Each volume includes a curricul ar description of the Energy Policy and Planning Seminar, a summary of each of the eight training modules, and a partial listing of the readings for the whole seminar. Only the first two modules are currently available for distribution. These readings have been collected from a wide range of sources for the convenience of trainers and participants. The selected readings discuss policy issues and measures designed to encourage efficient consumption, production options, and development plans in the energy sector. They are intended to enhance the awareness and analytical capabilities of the participants.
