UK/Indonesia Energy Seminar (Paper 4) : Frontier Areas of Constructability of Deep Water Platforms

This paper is intended to review the development of topsides structure and module weights together with the trend towards the large scale single piece 'integrated deck' topside approach. The paper also addresses a potential Frontier Development of an offshore project which may have an usually difficult reservoir characteristic and will therefore, by its process requirements, require an extremely large topsides weight which may well include a vast array of disproportionate large and heavy equipment packages each with different size to weight ratios. UKCS North Sea Oil and Gas Projects are experiencing a significant trend towards the utilisation of larger structures forming either very large modules or large single piece Integrated Deck Topsides.
