Sectoral agenda 21 : energy agenda for developing sustainable quality of life



In the Earth Summit Conference in Ro de Janeiro, Brazil on June 3- 14, 1992, Indonesia together with other 179 nations signed the agreement of Global Agenda 21 that has been politically accepted and agreed by all countries. The Agenda 21, an action program that anticipates the development in the 21* century, poured out the concepts of sustainable development as an effort to replace the existing development concepts that focused more on the development in the economic field. In the agenda that have been agreed by all parties, it is expected that the government, private sectors as well as the society should rely more on sustainable development in carrying out their daily activities, implementing balanced development in the sectors of economy and social conditions by considering the ecological factors.
