The book describes the charms of Beylerbeyi palace which was not only the residences of the Ottoman sultans but center of government for the Ottoman Empire, and the smaller kösks and kasirs which the sultans used for recreation became the property of the nation on 3 March 1924, shortly after the establishment of the Turkish Republic. The book deals with the history of palaces, their designs for court guests who have visited Beylerbeyi palaces, and their role in government and tourism.
