This report is a comprehensive overview of all proposals received and the projects selected in response to the Program Opportunity Notice (PON) for Clean Coal Technology IV (CCT-IV) Demonstration Projects (solicitation number DE-PSO1-91 FE62271 ). The Department of Energy (DOE) issued the solicitation on January 17, 1991. Through this PON, DOE solicited proposals to conduct cost shared clean coal technology projects to demonstrate innovative, energy efficient, economically competitive technologies. These technologies must be capable of (1) retrofitting, repowering or replacing existing facilities while achieving significant reductions in the emissions of sulfur dioxide (SO,) and/or the oxides of nitrogen (NO,) and/or (2) providing for future energy needs in an environmentally acceptable manner.
