The rise and fall of the shah : Iran from autocracy to religious rule

On 4 November 1979, when students occupied the American Embassy in Tehran and demanded that the United States return the Shah to exchange hosts, the Iranian regime became the focus of international surveillance and opposition. However, as Amin Saikal stated, this was not the beginning of the Iranian problem. Saikal studied the foreign of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, especially from 1953 to 1979, in the context of his government's dependence on the United States and his dream of turning Iran into a world power. Saikal argued that, though the Shah was successful at first, his goals and policies were full of contradictions and related forces and ultimately failed to achieve their goals. According to the government documents, letters are published and not published, as well as interviews with government officials in Iran, the United Kingdom, and the United States, The Rise and Fall of the Shah carefully executed the objects of his domestic and foreign policy - and the Shah's character - to explain it not only what, happened. But what happened. But how and why. In his new show, Saikal shows what has happened in Iran since the fall of the Shah and explains Iran's past well as its political past and future.
