Regional cooperation for power infrastructure : a report to the APEC Energy Working Group



The power sector in many APEC member economies is poised for rapid growth. The business sect excited by the huge investment potential in electricity in the region but remains cautious about participation for a number of reasons. At this time ofhuge growth in power infrastructure, almost all member economies are reforming their electricity supply industries. All member economies ae dealing wich similar isues and are motivated by the same objectives of promoting economic growth, increasing the efficiency of their electricity supply industry and mobilising business capital. Business sector participants are raising capital from the same investors and financiers who share the same views of the same risks.
